C*NT FIND THE WORDS
[Personal Project/Pro-active Idea: Integrated Campaign]
C*NT FIND THE WORDS is a campaign aimed at helping women overcome the perceived shame and embarrassment of getting a gynaecological check up.*
In order to tackle negative body image issues on the individual level, we first need to address the main societal issue - i.e., the patriarchal nature of the English language and its dislike of the word ‘vagina’, or any feminine term for that matter (Google: ‘vagina euphemisms’ if you need convincing).
By wielding this language in a positive way, we can hope to normalise conversations around vaginas and start saving lives.
THE VAGINA VOCAB
We’ll start the campaign with the launch of a new kind of dictionary.

Designed to smash taboos, the ‘Vagina Vocab’ will retire offensive euphemisms, dymistify confusing gynaecological terms and rescue powerful words that have been relegated to taboo land for far too long.

LET’S GET TALKING
As part of the launch, we’ll enlist body positivity advocates to promote the new Vagina Vocab on their platforms, challenging audiences - men, women, sons, daughters, grandmas - EVERYONE - to say the word ‘vagina’ with pride and without laughing.

LET’S START SHOUTING
We’ll confront society with provocative OOH ads

LET’S GET INFORMED
This campaign will culminate in an exhibition and talk series with a panel of experts in women’s health and artists who specialise in the female form. Hosted by Yumi Stynes, the event will unpack the taboo and stigma of vaginas in society today.
AND FINALLY, START NORMALISING VAGINAS
As part of the ticket, audiences will be given a free health consultation voucher with a gynaecologist.
